Best iPhones for Seniors

By Michael Miller Last Updated Wednesday, January 22, 2025 12:13 pm

iPhone 1 comparison - best iphone for seniorsApple has a new iPhone lineup with several new models and interesting features. If you’re ready for a new phone, there’s one here that’s perfect for you. Let’s take a look at each of Apple’s new iPhone models.

iPhone SE

Apple’s budget phone is the iPhone SE, the latest version of which sells for just $429. The iPhone SE is a smaller phone, with a 4.7-inch display. That makes a little harder to view small text onscreen but much easier to hold in one hand. The iPhone SE offers basic functionality, including a single 12MP main camera. It takes pretty good pictures and has 5G capability.

iPhone 14

The iPhone 14 is a holdover from last year’s model line in both 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch models. It features a dual-camera system with main and ultra-wide lenses and is 5G capable. The iPhone 14 has better battery life than the SE (up to 26 hours on a single charge) and a higher-quality TrueDepth front camera for sharper pictures. Other useful features include Emergency SOS via satellite and crash detection that dials emergency numbers if you’re in an accident. Pricing starts at $699.

iPhone 15

The iPhone 15 is Apple’s newest model, introduced in September 2023. It features the same screen sizes (6.1-inch and 6.7-inch models) and display as last year’s iPhone 14, but has a more powerful A16 chip for faster performance.

The camera system is also more advanced, with a 48MP main camera and a separate ultra-wide camera with a 4X optical zoom. The front-facing TrueDepth camera is 12MP with Focus and Depth Control for pro-level selfies.

One important iPhone 15 upgrade is the switch from the proprietary Lightning connector used on the SE and 14 to a faster, more universal USB-C connector. Pricing for the iPhone 15 starts at $799.

iPhone 15 Pro

Apple’s new flagship phone is the iPhone 15 Pro. It offers a three-camera system with a 48 MP main camera augmented with ultra wide and telephoto lenses with 10X optical zoom.

Like the regular iPhone 15, the Pro is upgraded with a USB-C connector. Battery life is up to 29 hours on a charge and performance is even faster with Apple’s latest A17 chip.

The iPhone 15 Pro is available in both 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch versions; both models feature Always-On display and a sturdy titanium case. This is Apple’s highest priced model, starting at $999.

Which iPhone Should You Buy?

Deciding which is the right iPhone for your needs is very much a personal decision. It all comes down to how big a phone you want and how much you want to spend.

For budget-conscious shoppers, the iPhone SE  is the obvious choice. At just $429 most people can pay cash for it, and many users prefer the small form factor. If you don’t mind the smaller screen and don’t need the fancy camera functions of the higher-end phones, this one’s a no brainer.

Most people will probably choose the phone in the middle, the base iPhone 15. This new phone will do just about everything you need it to do and offers a large 6.1-inch screen without totally breaking the bank. (And, if you don’t mind buying last year’s model, the iPhone 14 is very similar and costs $100 less.)

Then there’s the high-end iPhone 15 Pro. This new phone arguably has the best camera in the industry and superior performance. Of course, you pay for that camera and all the other fancy features – at least a grand, depending on your choice of size and storage. That’s a lot for a phone, but if only the best will do, that’s the way to go.
