Turner Classic Movies (TCM) has their annual Thin Man marathon for the New Year on January 1, 2026, with all six movies in the classic series to be shown.

These fast-paced mystery/comedies star William Powell and Myrna Loy as Nick and Nora Charles, the husband-and-wife sleuthing duo featured in Dashiell Hammett’s novel, The Thin Man.

The popular film series ran from 1934 to 1947. Nick, a well-known detective, has retired to oversee wife Nora’s extensive business holdings. But despite his best efforts, he finds himself drawn back into a series of murder investigations and mysterious adventures — with Nora’s eager assistance. The on-screen chemistry between Powell and Loy, combined with amusing and witty dialog, make for light-hearted viewing with a touch of suspense. All in all, it’s the perfect movie cocktail for a New Year’s Eve.

The movies will begin at 9:15 am on January 1, 2026 and run until 8 pm. All times shown below are Eastern Standard Time.  The Thin Man marathon has become an annual New Year’s event at TCM.
