The Mike Wallace Interview – watched on TV by millions from 1957 to 1960 – is available online from the University of Texas.
UT’s Ransom Center hosts many videos of the best of Wallace’s classic conversations with the leading figures of the day. Every week during the show’s three-year run, Wallace interviewed writers, politicians and celebrities. Guests range from Ayn Rand to Zsa Zsa Gabor, and Eleanor Roosevelt to Tennessee Williams.
The Mike Wallace Interview ran on ABC-TV from 1957 to 1960. Wallace later went on to be the host for 60 Minutes. The shows being broadcast now were obtained from Wallace’s personal library of 16mm prints.
The videos are now hosted by the Ransom Center at The University of Texas at Austin. In the early 1960s, Wallace donated kinescopes of these programs and related materials. You can find the collection at: Mike Wallace Interviews at UT
