Kenneth Branagh Turns 60

Sir Kenneth Branagh, whose upcoming film, Death on the Nile is awaiting a 2021 release, turns 60 today, December 10, 2020.

Branagh directs and stars in Death on the Nile, which is complete and was initially scheduled for release last October 23, but was delayed until 2021 due to the pandemic.

Sir Kenneth Charles Branagh (/ˈbrænə/); was born 10 December 1960 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.  He is a celebrated actor, director, producer, and screenwriter. Branagh trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London; in 2015 he succeeded Richard Attenborough as its president. He has been nominated for five Academy Awards and five Golden Globe Awards; he has won three BAFTAs and two Emmy Awards. He was knighted in 2012.

Is Kenneth Branagh Married?

From 1989 to 1995, Branagh was married to actress Emma Thompson. They appeared together in Fortunes of War, Look Back in Anger, Henry V, Much Ado About Nothing, Dead Again, and Peter’s Friends. During their marriage, and while directing and co-starring with Helena Bonham Carter in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, he began an affair with Bonham Carter. After Thompson divorced him, he and Bonham Carter were in a well-publicised relationship until 1999.

In 2003, he married film art director Lindsay Brunnock, whom he met during the shooting of Shackleton.
