Webber’s Cinderella Opens On Stage

After a year of pre-production work and delays due to Covid-19, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new musical comedy, Cinderella, had its stage premiere on Friday, June 25, 2021.

Cinderella is now showing at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in London’s West End.

Cinderella features a brand new score by Webber, lyrics by Oscar-nominated David Zippel, and a script from Emerald Fennell.  Starring in the title role is Carrie Hope Fletcher, a frequent performer in in London’s West End and former star of Les Miserables.

“Well, we are finally here, opening our doors to the public. A smaller audience than I had hoped for but an audience nonetheless. Thank you for everyone’s patience, and to anyone who had hoped to come tonight, Belleville can’t wait to welcome you very soon,” Webber posted on Facebook.

Free Clips of Cats, Phantom

You can find video clips from Cats, Phantom of the Opera and more Webber musicals on Youtube.

When the Coronavirus pandemic began, Webber began streaming replays of his musicals on the YouTube channel The Shows Must Go On. The channel aired free full-length recordings of Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals, including Phantom of the Opera, its sequel, Love Never Dies, and Cats.

Currently there are no full-length performances available but you can still find clips from CATS and Phantom of the Opera. Visit the YouTube channel The Shows Must Go On.
