“Here’s a fun and different take on TCM’s Star of the Month tribute: 20 stars instead of just one!” TCM said in its announcement of the 80s Ladies series.
“The 1980s were often a challenging time for female actors as they struggled to find leading roles and complex characters. In a cinematic landscape increasingly dominated by male-focused blockbuster action movies and sci-fi epics, these women broke through with performances that were both popular and critically acclaimed.”
